The Masters Tournament, is one of the four major championships in professional golf. Followed by the PGA Championship, U.S. Open, and the Open Championship, unlike the others, the Masters is always held at Augusta National. The field of players is smaller than those of the other major championships because it is an invitational event.
Jack Nicklaus has the most Masters wins, with six. Tiger Woods has five winning the latest Masters, Palmer four, and five have won three titles at Augusta.
Unveiling the Current Masters Odds for the Favorites and Early Picks
The first major golf tournament of the year tees off on Thursday when the best players in the world head to Augusta National Golf Club for the 2024 Masters Tournament.
Unlike in past years, the favorite in 2024 is less than +500 to wear the green jacket. Will scorching Scottie Scheffler take home another green piece of menswear? Is defending champ Jon Rahm the man to back?
Before the Masters tees off, here’s a breakdown of the current Masters odds and what to expect from this prestigious tournament.

2024 Masters | 88th edition of the Masters Tournament
Thursday, April 11th – Sunday, April 14th, 2024
Augusta National Golf Club, Augusta, Georgia
2023 Champion: Jon Rahm
2024 PGA The Masters Favorites Tournament Picks
Top Pick: Xander Schauffele +1300
The world’s fifth ranked golfer has yet to score a victory this season. But there are few players, Scheffler is the only one, that are playing as well as Xander Schauffele.
The +1800 choice has scored six finishes of tenth or better in eight tournaments played. Top finishes include a third at The American Express, a fourth at the Genesis Invitational, a second at The Players, and a fifth at the Valspar.
The odds on Schauffele have dived to +1300 after Xander opened at +1800. The odds drop is sign that big money is landing on Xander to score his first major title.
Xander Schauffele
First Pick Odds: +1300 | 2024 Masters Odds

Second Pick: John Rahm +1100
The defending champion has dropped a single tick since opening at +1200. The odds on Rahm make him more than playable, but he remains cold on the board.
The reason? Rahm has yet to win a single LIV Golf Tournament. His game is about four rounds of golf and not three. So while Rahm should be surging to the lead on Sunday, he and his LIV Golf peers are enjoying brews in the clubhouse or heading home.
JR gets his four rounds this week. Don’t be surprised when Rahm uses Sunday to overtake the leaders and win his second green jacket.
John Rahm
Second Pick Odds: +1100 | 2024 Masters Odds

Third Pick: Hideki Matsuyama +2500
Former Masters titlist Hideki Matsuyama is gearing up for another green jacket run. Matsuyama followed up the Genesis Invitational victory with a great twelfth place finish at the Arnold Palmer.
Hideki then finished sixth at The Players and seventh at the Valero. Matsuyama knows how to navigate Augusta National. Also, the odds are decent. So if you believe, go for it.
Hideki Matsuyama
Third Pick Odds: +2500 | 2024 Masters Odds

Fourth Pick: Scottie Scheffler +400
The odds are an issue for sure. But the main reason Scheffler is fourth is because in his last tournament played, where he went off at +280 odds, he didn’t dominate the way many expected.
Scheffler has been playing at such a prominent level, wins back to back wins at the Arnold Palmer and The Players, that he’s bound for a letdown. If the odds were higher, maybe. But at +400, Scottie is an underlay to win.

Previous Betting News
We have finally reached Masters week and the first major championship of the golf season. The odds that have been posted for more than a month haven’t changed a great deal, as oddsmakers seem to see this year’s tournament as a three-man race.
We still a few days away before tees off, so let’s take a look at those Masters betting lines and what we can expect on this prestigious golf tournament.
Updated Masters Betting Odds and Early Analysis before Tee Off | MyBookie PGA Tour Preview
2023 Masters Tournament
When: April 6–9, 2023
Where: Augusta National Golf Club, Augusta, Georgia, U.S.
Tours: PGA Tour | European Tour | Japan Golf Tour
Scottie Scheffler
Odds: Scottie Scheffler +690
PGA Tour Wins: 6
European Tour Wins: 2
Highest ranking: 1st | March 27, 2022 – 35 weeks, as of April 2, 2023
McIlroy’s co-favorite is the player ranked first in the world, Scottie Scheffler. He was also the player who bested McIlroy by three strokes at Augusta last year. That was Scheffler’s first ever win at a major tournament, and it was the highlight of his PGA Tour Player of the Year season.
Scheffler just won at The Players Championship, making him the third golfer ever to win the Masters and The Players Championship in a 12-month span. Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods are the other two.
The Masters Pick | Bet Scottie Scheffler to Win Masters

Rory McIlroy
Odds: Rory McIlroy +710
PGA Tour Wins: 23
European Tour Wins: 15
Highest ranking: 1st | 4 March 2012 – 122 weeks
The Masters is the one major tournament that has eluded Rory McIlroy in his career. He has been close – he was the runner-up just last year – but in the extensive trophy case of the three-time PGA Tour Player of the Year, there is no green jacket.
The second-ranked player in the world is the co-favorite heading into Thursday’s first round.
The Masters Pick | Bet Rory McIlroy to Win Masters

Jon Rahm
Odds: Jon Rahm +900
PGA Tour Wins: 10
European Tour Wins: 9
Highest ranking: 1st | 19 July 2020 – 46 weeks
If Sunday’s winner isn’t McIlroy or Scheffler, the other of the big three, Jon Rahm, is a good bet. He’s currently ranked third in the world with three wins this season, and all of them came within six weeks. However, since his win at the Genesis Invitational in February, his best finish is T31.
Rahm won the U.S. Open in 2021, but that is his only win at a major. His best finish at Augusta was a fourth-place showing in 2018, four shots off the lead.
The Masters Pick | Bet Jon Rahm to Win Masters
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Tournament
Jordan Spieth
Odds: Jordan Spieth +1625
PGA Tour Wins: 13
European Tour Wins: 3
Highest ranking: 1st | August 16, 2015 – 26 weeks
From the three favorites there is a drop off to the rest of the pack, which is headlined by 2015 Masters winner Jordan Spieth. He’s coming off a T3 at the Valspar Championship in March, which followed a T4 at the Arnold Palmer.
The Masters Pick | Bet Jordan Spieth to Win Masters
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Tournament
Patrick Cantlay
Odds: Patrick Cantlay +2700
PGA Tour Wins: 8
European Tour Wins: 1
Highest ranking: 3rd | January 23, 2022 – as of April 2, 2023
Patrick Cantlay hasn’t been great at the Masters – he has just one top-10 finish at Augusta – but he has been terrific this season. He was third at the Genesis Invitational, T4 at the Arnold Palmer, and T9 at the World Golf Championships.
The Masters Pick | Bet Patrick Cantlay to Win Masters
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Tournament
Cameron Smith
Odds: Cameron Smith +2400
PGA Tour Wins: 6
European Tour Wins: 4
Highest ranking: 2nd | 17 July 2022 – as of April 2, 2023
Australian Cameron Smith was the runner-up at Augusta in 2020, and last year he was the winner of The Open Championship.
The Masters Pick | Bet Cameron Smith to Win Masters
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Tournament
Justin Thomas
Odds: Justin Thomas +2000
PGA Tour Wins: 15
European Tour Wins: 4
Highest ranking: 1st | May 13, 2018 – 5 weeks
Justin Thomas is a two-time PGA Championship winner; he was fourth at Augusta in 2020, and was T10 at the Valspar two weeks ago.
The Masters Pick | Bet Justin Thomas to Win Masters
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Tournament
Tiger Woods
Odds: Tiger Woods +7500
PGA Tour Wins: 82 | Tied 1st all time with Sam Snead
European Tour Wins: 41 | 3rd all time
Highest ranking: 1st | June 15, 1997 – 683 weeks
You count out Tiger Woods at your peril. He was T47 at this event in 2022 after a year and half away from golf. This year he is healthier, he is more prepared, and when he played at the Genesis in February, he showed flashes of the Tiger Woods, that has 15 major championships.
He’s a longshot to win at +6600, but on the question of Tiger making the cut, he’s at -200. He’s +175 to get into the top-20, and +500 to finish in the top-10 at Augusta for the 13th time in his career.
The Masters Pick | Bet Tiger Woods to Win Masters

2022 Early Week Masters Tournament Update, Odds, and More
Previous Betting News
We have finally reached the greatest week in all of the sports, a week at Augusta National. The trip down Magnolia Lane, the pimento cheese sandwiches, and the sweet tea, but that may not be the best thing we see all week. Tiger Woods could return this week for the first time in over a year and that has the golf world waiting on the edge of their seats.
Hideki Matsuyama, the defending Masters champion, is questionable coming into the week. He withdrew from the Valero Texas Open last week due to neck pain and tried to receive treatment for this next week. He will host the champions’ dinner this week and try to play and defend his title.
With the tournament coming up, let’s take a look at the updated Masters Odds and who could be putting on a green jacket by the end of the week.
Jon Rahm +900
There have not been many changes made in the odds list heading into the week, as Jon Rahm still sits atop the odds board. With +900 odds, Rahm is the favorite to bet on this week at Augusta National. Currently the second-ranked player in the world, we have not seen Rahm play since the WGC Dell Technologies Match Play tournament.
That week, Rahm lost in the sweet 16 round but finished tied for ninth. So far this season, Rahm has four top 10 finishes. He came close to a victory at the Sentry Tournament of Champions as he finished in second place.
Rahm would be the third Spaniard to win a green jacket, the most recent since Sergio Garcia. Seve Ballesteros was a two-time Masters champion, winning in 1980 and 1983.
Last year was a true breakout year for Rahm but the flare has not been built yet this season. Rahm finished in a tie for fifth last year at The Masters, at six-under-par.
Jordan Spieth +1200
The former Masters champion is set to return after a slow week in his home state for the Valero Texas Open. Spieth won The Masters in 2015 breaking onto the scene in his breakout season. Spieth won in 2015 by four shots over Phil Mickelson at 18-under-par. At the time, Spieth had tied Tiger Woods for the lowest four-round total score in tournament history.
Since his 2015 breakout season, Spieth has struggled. He has not been able to find his consistent swing and if the long putts don’t fall, Spieth could be in trouble.
The good thing about Spieth is that he plays very well at certain courses. Pebble Beach and Augusta National are two courses that Spieth always plays phenomenal at. He is looking for his second green jacket, one that he hoped to have in 2016.
Collin Morikawa +1200
Collin Morikawa shares the +1200 odds with Jordan Spieth. Morikawa is one of the young rising stars on the PGA Tour, as he has won two majors already in his young career. Don’t look now, but Morikawa’s numbers are similar to Tiger Woods.
Morikawa is one of the most consistent ball strikers on the PGA Tour, which would suit well this week at Augusta National. He has played in seven events this season with three top 10 finishes. Morikawa would be a great player to bet on this week.
Tiger Woods +5000
There is no confirmation yet, but Tiger Woods is preparing as if he would play in this year’s Masters tournament. It would be his first tournament since the 2020 Masters when it was played in November. In early 2021, Woods was involved in a single-car crash, leaving him to miss over a year of golf.
What a special week it would be to see Woods return to play and if he were to compete again. It would be an amazing thing to see and it truly would be good for the game of golf.

Really Early 2022 Masters Tournament Expert Analysis | PGA Tour Betting
We last saw Hideki Matsuyama hoisting the ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP trophy in mid-October, his second victory in 2021. That first triumph came earlier in the year when Matsuyama became the first Japanese PGA professional to win the Masters and slip on the green jacket.
Let’s peek into our crystal ball and see if the 29-year-old can accomplish a rare feat and repeat as Masters champion in 2022 so you can plan your bets against The Masters odds.
Masters week begins on Monday, April 4th, and concludes on Sunday, April 10th. Next year’s tournament will be the 86th edition of one of golf’s most prestigious events. The tournament is one of the PGA’s four major championships and is the only one of the four not to rotate venues yearly.
With the weight of an entire country on his shoulders, the seven-time winner of the PGA Tour always seemed to be burdened by the expectations put forth to become the first from his country to win a major. Matsuyama was consistently inconsistent with the short stick, and before his victory at Augusta, hadn’t won a tournament since 2017.
Matsuyama began 2020 ranked 20th in the world, a far cry from the height of his PGA career when he was a top-10 player in 2016 and 2017, reaching as high as second in June of 2017. Currently, he sits at 18th in the world.
His play all came together over four days at Augusta, highlighted by a third-round seven-under that vaulted him into a four-shot lead heading into Sunday’s final round. Matsuyama wasn’t perfect on Sunday, shooting a one-over 72, but he held off Will Zalatoris to earn his first major championship and first win in nearly four years.
Strong Course History
Looking into the history a bit for Matsuyama and the Masters, the defending champion has had a lot of historical success on this course. Matsuyama won the Silver Cup for Low-Am in his tournament debut here in 2011 and has posted five top-20s over his previous six starts at Augusta National Golf Club.
Statistically, his scrambling ability and greens in regulation rankings play a significant role in his consistent success at Augusta. In five of the last seven Masters tournaments he’s played in, he’s finished in the top-10 in scrambling.
Matsuyama has course history, course knowledge, and now the weight off his shoulders to contend again in 2022. The victory in the fall at the ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP showed that we could expect a lot more from him next year.
Oddsmakers like his chances to repeat as well. Matsuyama is +2800 to take home the title again, 12th-best currently. The current favorite is Jon Rahm (+850), who claimed his first major in 2020 and will aim for his first green jacket in 2021. If Matsuyama can continue to improve his gameplay between now and April, expect him to contend again for the green jack come Sunday.
Only three players in the history of the Masters Tournament have won it in back-to-back seasons and none in over twenty years. Those players include Tigers Woods (2001-02), Nick Faldo (1989, 90), and Jack Nicklaus (1965-66).
